Kinky Twists For Kids

Kinky twists seem to be a hot topic around here so by popular demand, we thought it would be appropriate to give our readers another “kinky twist” article, for the kiddies.

When it comes to kids’ summer styles, we found that kinky twists are a great option. They offer a change from the traditional braids that we usually see but they still allow their hair to “rest” from the daily styling and processing. In addition, the style pictured above is one of the best styles for growing hair and tender edges as well as “age appropriate”.

This young lady has individual kinky twists in the classic bob style. This allows her to wear her hair loose instead of in a ponytail that can potentially rip her hair from her tender edges, ultimately causing permanent hair loss. Her twists are not too long or too full, which can also lead to hair breakage and loss.

Her stylist gently added highlights to the front of her hair giving her a natural “sun-kissed” look that is, yet again, age appropriate, resulting in a very happy client!

Here are a few tips to consider when choosing a style for your little one:

1. Make sure the style is not too long so she can wear her braids loosely instead of always pulled back

2. Make sure the style is not too bulky as this can be too heavy and cause hair breakage.

3. Be sure to consider maintenance before choosing a style because some styles require more than others.
