Highlighting With Braids

When it comes to braids, the options are endless with highlighting. So, now that summer is quickly approaching, let’s get started!!

The first thing you need to do is select your hair color options when buying your bulk hair. For beginners, try using a color that is similar to your natural color along with one highlighting color. When braiding the color in, you would only add the highlighting color to every other braid at the crown only.

If you have “been there, done that”, you may only select one bag of your natural color and the rest highlighting. Note that no matter how much the contrast of the color, once your hair blends with it, it will tone it down, especially if you have longer hair. For shorter hair, you might want to add more of your natural color so it is not too obvious where your hair ends.

For those of you who are “highlighting pros”, you probably will not use ANY of your own natural color and you might select three to four highlighting colors. We have seen blends of #4, #27, #30 and #33 blend very nicely together.

Or, if you prefer something brighter, we have seen neon green, hot pink and neon yellow all together on one head. These colors are perfect for holidays, school and/or team colors as well as making your own personal fashion statement.
